Christianity: Events in Jesus' Final Week

Easter is coming soon, so I thought I would reflect on the final week of Jesus' life and the events that took place on what we know as Holy Week.

The three and a half years of Jesus' earthly ministry culminated in the most amazing events ever witnessed.  The days leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus were packed with drama, teaching, betrayal, zeal, anguish and triumph.  Here is a summary of that fateful week:

Sunday - Triumphal entry into Jerusalem  -  Matthew 21 v 1-11

Monday - Clearing the Temple - Mark 11 v 12 -19

Tuesday - Teaching at the Mount of Olives  - Matthew 24 v 1-35

Thursday - The last supper - Matthew 26 v 17-30
                 - Betrayal and arrest - Mark 14 v 43 - 72

Friday - Trials - John 18 v 28  - 19 v 16
              Crucifixion - Matthew 27 v 32-56

Sunday-  Resurrection and appearance to the disciples  - Luke 24 v 1 -43

The first Sunday = is also known as Palm Sunday, and the Friday is known as Good Friday while the second Sunday is known as Easter Sunday
